Ancient Rome invented had many useful inventions that we still use in the modern world. Here are some examples of some of the incredible inventions.
Most modern medical tools were first created by the Ancient Romans. The Romans saw the primitive tools that the Greeks were using for medicine, and they decided that they needed to do something similar.
The Roman army was renown for their strength and they were very important in the conquest of land, and these advanced medical tools were one of the reasons that the Romans retained such a great army. Not surprisingly, Rome’s most valuable contribution to medicine came from the battlefield. Under the leadership of Augustus, they established a military medical corps that was one of the first dedicated field surgery units. These specially trained medics saved countless lives through the use of Roman medical inventions. Roman military medicine proved so advanced at treating wounds and promoting wellness that soldiers tended to live longer than the average citizen despite encountering many injuries.
The Romans promoted public health and sanitation by improving the design of aqueducts. They were above and underground channels that were usually made of stone, brick and volcanic cement. The aqueducts used gravity to bring fresh water from springs and rivers 50 to 60 miles away. Romans used aqueducts to do a lot of things in their daily life by creating accessible drinking water, public baths and underground sewage systems. None of these things would be possible without the aqueducts to transport water. Without the aqueducts the Romans would have to walk at least 400 miles to get water each day. The aqueducts improved their lifestyle, gave them more time to have a social life.
